("Herker") is proud to announce the purchase of a new, 9128 GLOBAL Scanning Performance Silver Edition CMM from Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. The GLOBAL Performance Silver Edition is a high performance coordinate measuring machine equipped with an advanced multi-sensor compatible controller, scanning probe and 2.5° motorized indexing head. The unique Tricision Bridge and patented dovetail guideway provides optimum stiffness for very precise measurements of high tolerance/critical feature parts.

The new DC24X scanning controller brings the latest in metrology and motion control technology to GLOBAL CMMs and allows the implementation of new Adaptive Scanning Algorithms. This is suitable for most measuring applications of prismatic parts, parts with complex geometries and free-form surfaces, along with reverse engineering operations.

The advanced PC-DMIS CAD++ Software with AutoPath allows for generating complex geometry, free-form alignment tools, and virtual simulation for collision protection. The software also allows the use of existing programs from Herker’s other CMM’s, plus the benefit of scanning and digitizing functionality. Herker CMM programmers and operators will find the learning curve from the current PC-DMIS software to be a very easy transition.

With a measuring range of 900mm (X), 1500mm (Y) and 800mm (Z), Herker will be able to measure larger parts more accurately that do not currently fit on the existing smaller CMM’s.  

 

The new GLOBAL Performance CMM capabilities perfectly complement Herker’s other precision measurement instruments including the OGP SmartScope vision measuring system.
